Valve Employee Handbook Leaks to Public

image

Long known as one of the least conventional workplaces in the industry, Valve is now a little bit less mysterious to outsiders, thanks to a leak of its official New Employee Handbook. Included in the leaked PDF file are details of daily life at Valve that will make many game creators want to fire off a resume immediately.

The book is also filled with some fascinating graphs, charts and timelines, from the history of the company to the structure of their office hierarchy (which turns out to not be a hierarchy at all). The section on page 54 called “What is Valve NOT good at?” is a particularly interesting read.

Check the whole thing out in its 56-page glory, here.

Kid Fights For His Right To Party; Murder

image

You know how when you went to house parties in high school, the host would always say, “Don’t go into my parent’s bedroom, otherwise I’m dead”? Well! Tyler Hadley, 17, was arrested for murdering his parents and then hiding their bodies in the master bedroom while he threw a 60-person party.

The teenager is said to have killed his parents with a 22-inch hammer and then placed the bodies inside their bedroom, after which he “tried to conceal the bodies with household items.” He also seems to have locked the door to the bedroom, not that it did much good: The police were apparently tipped off by a partygoer early in the morning.

As for a motive? “They said he killed his parents with a hammer because they wouldn’t let him throw a party,” party attender Adam Gibbs told WSVN.

I’m never having children……  White children are terrifying.

Casey Anthony Evidence was FALSE

image

MIAMI — Assertions by the prosecution that Casey Anthony conducted extensive computer searches on the word “chloroform” were based on inaccurate data, a software designer who testified at the trial said Monday.

The designer, John Bradley, said Ms. Anthony had visited what the prosecution said was a crucial Web site only once, not 84 times, as prosecutors had asserted. He came to that conclusion after redesigning his software, and immediately alerted prosecutors and the police about the mistake, he said.

The finding of 84 visits was used repeatedly during the trial to suggest that Ms. Anthony had planned to murder her 2-year-old daughter, Caylee, who was found dead in 2008. Ms. Anthony, who could have faced the death penalty, was acquitted of the killing on July 5.

Well honestly who googles anything 84 times?

Sarah Palin's Movie Gets 0% on RottenTomatoes

image

The results are (as good as) in, and the critics are snarling. Based off its first 10 reviews, the Sarah Palin documentary “The Undefeated” won’t be budged from its 0 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Even “Gigli” could do better than that.

Another film that shares this honor is “Ballistic - Ecks vs. Sever” — an action film starring Antonio Banderas and Lucy Liu — with 108 reviews damning it to critical hell.

Based off Rotten Tomatoes’ list of the worst films from the first 10 years of the decade, films that have come close to the coveted 0 percent rating include “Alone in the Dark,” sitting at 1 percent, “Battlefield Earth” at 2 percent,”Twisted,” also at 2 percent, and “Because I Said So,” which snatched a whole 5 percent.

The more curious thing is, many of these badly reviewed films still got some love from their audiences — “Because I Said So” gained a considerable 68 percent, “Twisted” got 40 percent and even “Ballistic - Ecks vs. Sever” got almost a quarter of its audience to back it. However, “The Undefeated” sits unmoved at 0 percent on that front as well, based off 732 user ratings. We’ll let you know if anyone dares say something good about it.

I get it though.  Smaller hands make EVERYTHING look bigger if you get what I’m….my penis…..is what I’m referring to right now.

White Supremacist Gets Ass Kicked

28-year-old white supremacist Daren C. Abbey began threatening Marlon Baker at a Boise, Idaho bar because “blacks are not welcome” there. Baker decided to leave but Abbey followed him to his car screaming racist things at him. Abbey then tried to punch him, but little did he know Baker was a champion boxer. Baker knocked him out with one punch. When Abbey woke up, he was arrested and charged with misdemeanor battery and felony malicious harassment. Hahaha!

Robin's look in Arkham City

Posted above is the first look at the playable version of Robin in the upcoming “Batman: Arkham City” title. Contrary to a prior report Robin will be playable on Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and PC as long as you pre-order from Best Buy and receive the ‘Tim Drake Robin Pack’ DLC code. In challenge mode he will have his own unique gadgets and moves and feature an alternate red skin which I can only pressume is his classic Christmas-colored git up. Along with being able to use him on the challenge maps provided in the retail copy, his DLC will come with two additional challenge maps, Black Mask Hideout and Freight Train Escape.

My personal opinion on this whole story is that I am glad they gave Robin a modern update. Aside from Aquaman, Robin was usually the jokester punching bag when it came to DC Superheroes. It’s good to see him in a suit that looks more ‘badass’ than ‘little boy’. I really hope that down the line they provide Robin as a purchasable DLC  and make him available to all those gamers you are thoroughly enthralled by the fact you can play as the new and improved Robin.

What are your opinions on his new look?    Leave a comment down below.

Ryan Dunn Dead at 34!?

Reports have confirmed that Ryan Dunn, star of Jackass, was killed in a car crash at 3:00 am this morning in West Goshen Township, Pennsylvania.

Police have indicated that he was speeding in the early hours of the morning, and earlier in the evening had tweeted the picture below, suggesting alcohol may be a factor:

Police reports have stated that the car, a 2007 Porsche 911 GT3, was “engulfed in flames” upon arrival to the crash site. Dunn was 34.
