The FAA’s New Electronic Rules Are Being Finalized!
According to the New York Times, the FAA is about to finalize the new rules regarding in-flight electronic use after a year of debate.
Last year the FAA said it would take a fresh look at the ban on the use of electronic devices during takeoff and landing. Apparently they’re done looking because according to sources, the FAA advisory panel will meet this week to finalize the new policy.
It’s expected that ebooks, listening to podcasts, and watching videos will be allowed but that making phone calls, or using Wi-Fi will remain a no-go.
The decision may be made by the panel will be suggested to the FAA by the end of the month and will likely go into effect next year.
